Assessment
In Career Development: Formal Instruments>
Conestoga College, Kitchener Ontario.
This
course provides an overview of the history, theory, nature
and process of assessment and provides students with practice
in using assessment tools for career counseling. Students
will have the opportunity to examine the procedures for using
and interpreting data from a variety of assessment inventories,
and learn how to integrate assessment data in the career counseling
context. Students will examine assessment tools, and apply
theory they have learned related to evaluating statistical
measures, the purpose of the assessment, format, administration
procedures, norms, reliability, validity and interpretation
of results. Ethical implications of administering psychological
tests will be discussed along with the limitations and cautions
related to the use of standardized tests.
